Seq. 1650A - "Lost in the Everglades"
DRAMA
Nacha (renamed Gabi in the film), a precocious ten year old, and Vivo, a melodious Kinkajou monkey from Cuba, paddle a life raft through the Everglades on their way up to Miami. En route they pick up Dancarino, a pesky Spoonbilled crane who offers to guide them through the swamp in exchange for love advice.

SONG SEQUENCE, COMEDY
Homely Dancarino bemoans his lack of luck with the ladies in this deleted Lin-Manuel Miranda song sequence. I envisioned this tune as the antithesis to "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid: Vivo is a less enthusiastic version of Sebastian Crab, while the percussionist swamp critters are busy fighting for survival.

"Got No Game" Script Pages
More lyric sheets than script pages, the visuals for this musical number were wholly entrusted with the story artist. Lin-Manuel Miranda's trademark hip-hop style of verse writing provided a plethora of descriptives for me to glean ideas from. Avoiding hard cuts, I opted instead for fluid transitions from shot to shot.
